Warehouse - Business Support Administrator

Type:  Permanent

Salary: £21,000.00 per year

Summary:

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Mediascape team to enhance our Business Support Team.

Mediascape designs, supplies, installs, and maintains integrated Audio-Visual systems throughout Scotland. Centrally located in Glasgow’s Port Dundas area, with teams in Edinburgh, and a satellite office in Inverness.

Carrying out a variety of tasks, you will need to be quick thinking, versatile, efficient, accurate with great attention to detail and above all experienced in working in a very busy and demanding office environment. You will be receiving and receipting goods into our warehouse, ordering of consumables and collating equipment for installations. A keen interest and knowledge of Audio-Visual and experience with SAGE would be advantageous but not necessary, however previous experience of working in a warehouse is essential, as is a valid UK driving licence.

You will be liaising with our Sales and Technical teams, bringing together many support elements to fulfil our service to our large customer base.

Professional skills/experience

  • Experience of administration in an engineering or technical environment - Passionate about technology
  • Strong organisation skills with the ability to perform multiple tasks seamlessly and with high attention to detail
  • Experience in working in a customer-focused environment and delivering and exceeding customer expectations.
  • Experience of working in a demanding warehouse – Heavy lifting is involved
  • Excellent interpersonal skills are essential, along with a high level of written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritise workload and be highly organised - Be able to think on your feet and make effective decisions
  • Be able to drive continuous improvement of business processes and systems to increase efficiency and quality.
  • Great numeracy skills

AV Commissioning Engineer - Scotland

Type:  Permanent

Salary:  £30,000 to £40,000pa

Summary:           

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for completion of all commissioning documentation and formal handover of the system to the client
  • Supervising system pre-build works at client & company premises to the required standard
  • Carry out testing and configuration of systems built off-site prior to acceptance testing
  • Preparing acceptance testing documentation prior to client or consultant acceptance tests
  • Assist in the second fix of AV systems by supplying design drawings and cable schedules to the highest possible standard
  • Provide control system programming and GUI design (Extron, AMX, Crestron)
  • Set up, test, and commission systems on-site to meet the required standards
  • Completion, and where appropriate, documentation of as-built version of configuration software for DSPs, Matrices, etc
  • Support the Project Managers with all technical aspects of project delivery, in documentation, liaising with 3rd parties, design drawings, etc
  • Provide technical support for all installed systems including technical advice to the client and other team members
  • Provide technical support for on-site system maintenance, system repairs, and modifications after project completion
  • Provide technical information and support for Sales, Installation, and Project Management staff
  • Any other duties and responsibilities as deemed required by line management
  • Required Skills
  • In-depth professional AV engineering knowledge
  • Experience with Extron, AMX, and Crestron control system programming and deployment
  • A working knowledge of Extron and Biamp DSP’s
  • Experience in the deployment of Zoom and Teams Room Systems
  • An understanding of AVoIP and Dante network technology
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, organisational skills, and the ability to work on multiple projects
  • Experience in commissioning and fault-finding of complex AV systems
  • Ability to prioritise and work under pressure is essential to meet necessary deadlines
  • Close attention to detail
  • Current and clean Driving License

AV Technical Design Manager - Scotland

Type:  Permanent

Salary:  £35,000 to £45,000pa

Summary:

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Development and design of all systems and solutions to customer requirements
  • Provision of support and advice to the Engineering team on products and technology
  • Consultancy support for customers
  • Monitoring product portfolio to ensure that Mediascape supply the best, most appropriate kit to customers
  • Building organisational knowledge of availability, functionality, and application of audio-visual equipment
  • Technical input to tender documentation, customer proposals, and company marketing
  • Commission AV systems where required (desirable not essential)
  • Programme AV Control Systems including Extron and AMX (Creston desirable but not essential) where required
  • Maintain knowledge of new developments and innovations in the audio-visual field
  • Develop an effective and accessible database of current and future products and solutions
  • Monitor, assess and manage design capacity, making the business case for the additional resource as required
  • Contributing to management team discussions and to executive policy and strategy
  • Taking an active interest in self-development, seeking opportunities to enhance skills and experience to optimise performance
  • Any other duties and responsibilities as deemed required by line management

Required Skills:

  • Excellent technical knowledge of AV & VC equipment
  • Must be able to produce AV designs including schematics for video, audio, control, and network
  • Must be able to produce cable schedules
  • Must be able to produce and mark up DWG level room drawings. Knowledge of relevant drawings systems including CAD, Visio etc
  • Ability to design innovative, financially viable, and reliable systems that meet our client’s requirements while remaining competitive in the market
  • Knowledge of the latest AV products including but not limited to Extron, AMX, Crestron, Samsung, NEC, Polycom and Kramer
  • Ability to commission full AV systems including but not limited to VC systems, Digital Sound Processors, Video and Audio distribution systems
  • Extron and AMX Control System programming experience (Crestron desirable)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, organisational skills and the ability to work on multiple projects
  • Ability to understand project schedules, plans and labour requirements. Prince 2 practitioner an advantage
  • Ability to prioritise and work under pressure is essential to meet necessary deadlines
  • Good understanding of IT and networks
