We are proud to have a team of experienced, loyal and passionate people contributing to the success of Mediascape every day. Today, Director Lianne Ferrie tells us a bit more about herself and her experience at Mediascape. Meet Lianne:
How long have you worked for Mediascape and what attracted you to it?
I started with Mediascape on April 1st 2004,April Fools' day! I left for a while to live abroad but came back into 2014, I loved working for Mediascape the first time around so when the opportunity came up to return, I was delighted. I am a geek and love technology, so it works for me and I have also always liked the team dynamic and the way the business is ran.
Tell us a bit about your role and what a typical day looks like
Ah this is a tough one as up until lately my role was as Engineering Manager and Director so my day to day was ensuring the smooth delivery of our engineering projects and maintenance contracts along with managing the engineering team and carrying out my Directors responsibilities. This year, I have moved into account management and I am now responsible for the Higher Education and NHS customers throughout the West of Scotland, so my day looks very different! Along with continuing my Director responsibilities, I now manage our existing customer base and I am working to develop my own new customers in this area.
What is your favourite aspect of your job?
I love dealing with customers and coming up with solutions, I really get a buzz from starting something and seeing it through, my favourite part though is probably working to develop and change the business and helping it move forward. Can I also say I love the team, they work hard and I think they do a great job!
What has been the most memorable/favourite project you have worked on?
Probably my first sales project, the Lecture Theatre upgrade at Glasgow Kelvin College. I worked with Charlie and we designed a video wall solution that our customer absolutely loved and was really well received by the College. I was so delighted that we nailed the remit!
How do you like to spend your free time outside of work?
Spending time with my family and friends, my son Ollie is 8 and is amazing and a lot of fun to be around. I love spending time in the house, I think I am getting old and would rather be at home than out trying to get a taxi at midnight! I'm more of a Prosecco and Netflix girl these days!
What is your favourite quote?
"Nothing worthwhile ever came easy."
Do you have any secret talents nobody knows about?
I am told I have a flare for the dramatics! Other than that, DIY!
